Kingston, Jamaica: Winning the ‘sound of the year’ at the Youth View Awards recently is just the start of an amazing run for Coppershot Disco. On Saturday February 7th, Coppershot entered the stage at the National Indoor Sports Arena triumphant and recognized for all their work in the industry for the past year. After selecting at all the hit parties, events, fashion shows and more, its loyal listeners recognized the sound. The three founding members, Matthew Gray, Shaun Anderson and Jason Henriques, as well as newcomers Marc Chin and Sanjay Smith were on hand to collect the award. Gray said, "the award means a lot to us, not only because it was voted on by the public but because of whom we were nominated with. Renaissance and Stone Love are icons in the business going for 20 and 30 odd years Winning Sound of the year shows that our hard work & dedication over the years has paid off and we are grateful for all the fans, artists & promoters who have supported us over the years " This is just the crowning glory on a number of other successes including the sound’s recent move into the production side of music. Coppershot had a thriving rhythm entitled ‘Mini Skirt’ with songs such Whine Pon Di Double by Tony Matterhorn, Dugu Dugu by lyricist Vybz Kartel and She Wah Di Ras by Zebra. Their singles include the hit If We Nuh Rich Dis Year by Charly Blacks and others from their new artiste Hyah Slyce who they have been developing. They also have a couple of tracks that they produced for Sean Paul’s Upcoming Album that should create quite a stir. Known for their dynamically creative playing, dependability and versatility, the sound is slowly conquering the world with bookings across the globe. The sound recently did shows in the Middle East and where the first ever dancehall sound to play over there, second to the first Jamaican entertainer, Sean Paul, to ever perform there. Currently DJ Kenny and DJ Cutty from the sound are touring England. Coppershot is also looking forward to a mini Canadian tour in March and are set to kick off a monthly performance at a club event in the Cayman Islands. There are also plans being set to tour Europe in early summer and the Caribbean later in the summer.Aside from their widely popular mix tapes Coppershot can now also be heard on SiriusXM Satellite radio where they host a show which features all the latest Dancehall & Reggae tunes uncensored in a hardcore format For the future aside from selecting music and producing it the dynamic sound will also take their hand to fashion. According to Gray the sound is in talks with one of the biggest T-shirt brands in Jamaica to produce signature Coppeshot Tees which is set to launch by April 2009. Not abandoning the music scene you can check Coppershot on the party scene in New York as they launch their exclusive party series and of course in Jamaica as the sound gets geared up to celebrate their 14th anniversary with an amazing blow out party. For further information contact at Matthew Gray at 421-4398 or email them at: coppershot@gmail.com
Pressure "Coming Back For You" Album now available & available for Interviews Rymshot Productions and Zojak World Wide are proud to announce the new release of VI Reggae sensation Pressure. Coming Back For You, Pressure's third album to date, is now available through a variety of online retailers. After it's initial release last week, the album has made it to #10 on the Itunes reggae chart and #1 on the Amazon reggae chart. Coming Back For You finds Pressure teaming up again with Dean Pond, who produced his debut album The Pressure Is On. True to form, this album has a consistent production quality rarely seen in modern reggae releases. Live instrumentation accompanies Pressure's well written lyrics, creating a solid production that can be listened to from beginning to end with no filler. Started over 2 years ago, production was halted during the release of Pressure's breakthrough album Love and Affection, but resumed in 2009. These sessions over time resulted in heavy hitting tracks like Pure Life, Everything will Be Fine, Love Conquer All, and the title track. Tracks like Baby Girl, Together as One, and I See Rastafari help demonstrate Pressure's versatility as an artist, placing him over R&B, hip hop, and rock rhythms which he manages to work with ease. Pressure is the whole musical package, he can sing, rap, chant, and deejay and flow seamlessly between genres.
